The Queen's Health System

A private, non-profit, acute medical care facility that is the largest private hospital in Hawaii with more than 3,000 employees and over 1,200 physicians on staff.

Challenge: The Queen’s Health System (QHS) has multiple hospitals across four different islands and was in need of a website that represents the integrated system’s brand and
quality of care.

  • Provide a new website design and improved user experience across all devices
  • Write new content to support the integrated excellence of the health system’s services
  • Create a new information architecture that reflects the services offered by key hospitals such as the Queen’s Heart and the Transplant Center, while still representing the system-wide reach of QHS’s community hospital and provider practices

Approach: MERGE Atlanta built a cohesive website to reflect the health system’s large network, enabling visitors to easily find service offerings provided by each hospital.

  • Provided website designs and implementation for each of it’s primary entities
  • Provided a strategic approach to improved user experiences
  • Evaluated the current user experience and identified opportunities to enhance benefits to site visitors, internal staff and overall user experience
  • Used the AVIDCMS™ to create a multisite experience on a unified platform that allows administrators to create and manage content in a centralized repository and syndicate content to various hospital and service line sections
  • Developed tools, including Physician Directory, Classes & Events, Form Builder and Campus Map Locations that create
a unified brand and user experience while still utilizing a centralized content management approach
